Decimal to HEX

Decimal to HEX

What this does

Converts a base-10 number to base 16. 255 becomes FF; 4096 becomes 1000.

When to use it

  • Colour values — 255, 128, 0 becomes #FF8000.
  • Memory addresses and byte offsets.
  • Reading error codes that are printed in hex.

Good to know

Hex digits run 0–9 then A–F. Two hex digits equal one byte (0–255).

Enjoy the little things in life. For one day, you may look back and realize they were the big things. Many of life's failures are people who did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up.
