Binary to Decimal

Binary to Decimal

What this does

Reads a string of 0s and 1s as a base-2 number and gives the base-10 value. 1010 is 10; 11111111 is 255.

When to use it

  • Reading a register or flag value from a datasheet.
  • Working out a CIDR mask (/24 = 24 ones).

Good to know

Spaces are ignored, so you can paste grouped bits.

Enjoy the little things in life. For one day, you may look back and realize they were the big things. Many of life's failures are people who did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up.
