What this does

Takes a Base64 string (with or without the data:image/…;base64, prefix) and gives back the image as a file you can save.

When to use it

  • Pulling an embedded image out of HTML, CSS or a JSON payload.
  • Checking what a Base64 blob in a log or database actually contains.

Good to know

If the result is broken, the string was probably cut short or has line breaks inside it. Paste the whole thing in one piece.
