What this does

Converts SubRip subtitles (.srt) to WebVTT (.vtt), the format HTML5 video and most web players need. Timestamps change from 00:01:02,500 to 00:01:02.500 and a WEBVTT header is added.

When to use it

Adding captions to a video on your own site with the <track> tag.
Uploading to a platform that only accepts VTT.

Good to know

Basic formatting tags (<i>, <b>) carry over. SRT positioning codes are dropped because VTT positions differently.
