Confidence Interval Calculator
What this does
Given a sample mean, standard deviation and sample size, it gives the range in which the true population mean is likely to fall at the confidence level you choose (90%, 95%, 99%).
When to use it
- Reporting survey or experiment results with a margin of error.
- Deciding whether two averages are really different or just noise.
Good to know
A 95% interval does not mean a 95% chance the true value is inside this particular range; it means the method captures the truth 95% of the time. Small samples (under 30) use the t-distribution, which the tool applies automatically.
