Base64 Decode
What this does
Turns a Base64 string back into the original text or data. Padding (=) is handled, and URL-safe variants (- and _) are accepted.
When to use it
- Reading an
Authorization: Basic …header. - Inspecting a JWT payload (the middle segment is Base64URL).
- Recovering text from an email or log that was encoded in transit.
Good to know
If the output is gibberish, the data was binary (an image or file) — use Base64 to Image for pictures.
