URL Encode
What this does
Percent-encodes text so it can travel safely inside a URL: spaces become %20, & becomes %26, non-Latin characters become UTF-8 byte sequences such as %ED%95%9C.
When to use it
- Building a query string by hand (
?q=…). - Passing a URL inside another URL (redirect parameters).
- Sharing links that contain Korean, Japanese or accented characters.
Good to know
Encode only the value, not the whole URL — encoding the :// and / breaks the address.
