What this does
Removes whitespace and comments and shortens what can be shortened without changing behaviour. Local variable renaming is applied when the option is on.
When to use it
- Shipping a script to production without a build step.
- Inlining a small script into an HTML page.
Good to know
Test the minified file — code that relies on Function.name or toString() of a function can break when names are shortened.
