JSON Validator
What this does
Checks whether text is valid JSON and, if not, points to the position of the first problem — a trailing comma, a single-quoted string, a missing bracket, an unescaped control character.
When to use it
- A program rejects a config file and the error message is unhelpful.
- Before pasting JSON into a database field or an API console.
Good to know
Common non-JSON habits: trailing commas, comments, single quotes and unquoted keys. All four are errors in strict JSON.
