Apparent Power Converter

Apparent Power Converter

What this does

Converts apparent power between volt-amperes (VA), kilovolt-amperes (kVA) and megavolt-amperes (MVA) — the units used for transformers, generators and UPS ratings.

When to use it

  • Sizing a UPS: a 1,000 VA unit typically delivers 600–900 W depending on power factor.
  • Reading a generator or transformer nameplate.

Good to know

Apparent power (VA) × power factor = real power (W). For resistive loads the factor is 1; for motors and computers it is lower.

Enjoy the little things in life. For one day, you may look back and realize they were the big things. Many of life's failures are people who did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up.
